The eligibility tool

The eligibility checker runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no form submission, no request to a server carrying your answers, no cookie and no browser storage. Closing the tab discards everything you entered.

This is a property of how the page is built rather than a promise about how we behave. There is no code on that page capable of sending your answers anywhere.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage: which pages are read, roughly where readers arrive from, and at country level where they are. It is configured with browser storage turned off, so it sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, and every visit is counted as a new one. IP addresses are anonymised. We do not sell or share what it collects, and we cannot identify you from it. Because nothing is stored on your device, you are not asked to consent to it.

Advertising

There is currently no advertising on this site and no advertising script is loaded. If advertising is introduced, this page will be updated first, and any consent required will be requested before anything is set.

Server logs

This site is served by a hosting provider which, like all web hosts, processes technical information needed to deliver a page: the request, an IP address, a timestamp and a user agent string. This is standard operation of the internet rather than something we collect for our own purposes, and we do not build profiles from it.

Email

If you email us, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to answer you and to correct the site. We do not add you to any list and do not pass your message on.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability in respect of personal data we hold. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. Write to the address on the contact page to exercise any of these, and you may complain to your national supervisory authority.

Children

This site is a reference for travellers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here, and the "Last verified" date at the foot of this page shows when it was last reviewed.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the law of Portugal.
